{"id":1914,"date":"2014-02-03T12:48:57","date_gmt":"2014-02-03T10:48:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/birgit-kolar.com\/about-me\/"},"modified":"2014-02-03T12:48:57","modified_gmt":"2014-02-03T10:48:57","slug":"about-me","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/birgit-kolar.com\/en\/about-me\/","title":{"rendered":"About Me"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<p>Born in 1970 in Waidhofen\/Ybbs (Austria) where, at the age of six, she began to study the violin at the local music school.<\/p>\n<p>From 1982 she studied at the University of Music in Vienna with the concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Rainer K\u00fcchl and his assistant teacher Jela Spitkova. She continued her studies with Wolfgang Schneiderhan in Lucerne,\u00a0Robert Masters in London and Josef Luitz in Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>From 1999-2008 \u00a0Birgit Kolar played together with members of the \u201cSymphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks\u201d as a 1st violinist at the \u201cM\u00fcnchner Streichquartett\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As a soloist and chamber musician she performed all over Europe, Japan and South America.<\/p>\n<p>Birgit Kolar was\u00a0a.o.\u00a0concertmaster from Vienna Symphony Orchestra from 1994-1996.<\/p>\n<p>Since than she has been playing as a guest concertmaster in several European orchestras like the Bavarian State Orchestra (Munich State Opera), the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, etc. and was as well regularly invited \u00a0from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>From 2003 &#8211; 2009 \u00a0she was an assistant-teacher at the University for Music in Vienna, in the year 2011 she was guest professor at the Kunstuniversit\u00e4t Graz.<\/p>\n<p>Birgit Kolar plays a violin Carlo Bergonzi, Cremona 1723\u00a0from the \u201ccollection of rare instruments\u201d owned by the National Bank of Austria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Born in 1970 in Waidhofen\/Ybbs (Austria) where, at the age of six, she began to study the violin at the local music school.
